The Tiny Umbrella
Rain drummed on the old wooden pier. Momo had planted a tiny umbrella in a coconut and settled underneath it, very pleased. "Warm, right?"
Lumi sat beside the coconut. Exactly half of Lumi was under the umbrella. The other half was collecting raindrops. "My side's raining."
Momo gasped and wriggled sideways. "Scoot in! There." Two round jelly friends pressed together under one umbrella the size of a leaf. For a moment it almost worked.
A fat drop slid off the edge and landed right between them. Momo looked down at a wet patch, then at another. "Oh... still wet."
Lumi did not say anything for a while. Then Lumi blinked slowly and tilted up. "Look up."
Above the pier, a huge green leaf had been leaning over them the whole time, wide and dark with rain. Momo stared, then beamed. "A roof for two!"
They shuffled under the leaf together, the tiny umbrella still standing proudly in its coconut beside them. Lumi gave a small, satisfied smile. "Dry. Mostly."
