Trapped in a bubble: how to get free

In Boome Slime, getting caught in a blast does not end your round immediately. The slime that was hit is sealed inside a bubble first. What happens in the next few seconds decides whether that becomes a close call or a lost round.

What being trapped means

A trapped slime floats inside a bubble, moves very slowly and cannot pick anything up. The trap lasts only a few seconds. If nothing frees you before it runs out, or an opponent reaches you first, the trap ends in defeat.

The rescue needle

A rescue needle is the item made for this moment. Use it while you are trapped and it pops your own bubble so you can move again. It only works while you are trapped: it does not bring you back once you have already been defeated.

Needle, potion, armor or shield?

They are not interchangeable. Armor and a shield pickup are planning ahead, a needle is a second chance, and a potion is a last one.

After you pop free

Escaping is only useful if the next step is safe. Before moving, check the lines of any bubble still waiting nearby, including the one that caught you if there was a chain. Then move away from the busiest part of the maze rather than straight back into it.

In team rounds

In team duels, a trapped teammate can be rescued, and a trapped opponent can be finished. That makes trapped slimes the centre of attention: a quick rescue can turn a round around, and rushing in carelessly can get two friends caught instead of one.

Avoid needing the needle

Most traps come from the plan, not the reflexes. The habits in Guide 1 and Guide 2, choosing an escape tile before placing a bubble and checking every line of a chain, prevent most of them.

A general guide for Boome Slime, which is still in development. Items and rules differ between modes, and between the full iOS development build and the separate Android 50-stage trial. This is not a walkthrough or a promise of availability.
